These instructions are only necessary to configure IE-Mode on a personal laptop or computer. Laptops and computers managed by an IT organization should work with cookie sharing group policies.

Context

Within Xpert Suite there are a number of system management functionalities that are only available with the Microsoft Edge IE mode. In Classic System Management ('Klassiek beheer') there is a collection of authorizations and configuration options that need to be transferred to the new browser independent pages. Below you can find a step-by-step plan how to set up IE mode in Microsoft Edge.

To configure this correctly as an organization, Cookie Sharing must be set up at group policy level. See here for more information and how to set this up.

1. Open browser Settings.

Open the Edge browser, and click on the three dots at the top right corner.

Click on Settings.

2. Click on Default browser.

Within Settings, click on Default browser to set Microsoft Edge as your default browser, and turn on Internet Explorer Compatibility.

On the Default browser screen, enter the settings below and add 'https://login.xpertsuite.nl' to:
'Internet Explorer mode pages'.

If an 'Enterprise List policy' is used within the organization, the following sites must also be added for the production environment, in addition to https://login.xpertsuite.nl:

    https://vxt01.xpertsuite.nl

    https://vxt02.xpertsuite.nl

    https://apps01.xpertsuite.nl

    https://apps02.xpertsuite.nl

After entering the settings, click on:

This will save the new settings.

3. Open 'Cookies en site permissions'.

Within Settings, click on 'Cookies en site permissions'.

4. Go to 'All permissions', and click on 'Pop-ups and redirects'.

5. Add the following URLs under 'Allow'.

https://apps01.xpertsuite.nl

https://apps02.xpertsuite.nl

https://login.xpertsuite.nl

https://vxt01.xpertsuite.nl

https://vxt02.xpertsuite.nl

6. Add Xpert Suite to trusted sites

For Classical System Management it is necessary to add Xpert Suite to the trusted sites. Go to the Control Panel of Windows and search (at the top right) for 'internet options'.

Click on the green header 'Internet Options'.

In the pop-up on the tab 'Security', at 'Trusted Sites' set the 'Security level for this zone' to 'Low'. This is necessary if you use Classical System Management, as this allows the use of 'activeX components'.

Finally, under the 'Sites' button, enter the addresses of Xpert Suite.

Add the following addresses here, depending on the URLs being used:

https://*.xpertsuite.nl

https://*.xpertsuite.app

https://login.xpertsuite.nl

(and add, if applicable, the 'acceptance environment' variants with 'acc' in front (e.g., https://*.accxpertsuite.nl).

Click op 'OK'.

7. (optional) Installation of XS Components

It is possible that after following the above steps, you are unable to get into Classic System Management in '14. Screen Design Module'. This can be solved in the following way: Install the VerzuimXpert components on your computer. You may need a system administrator for this.

Clicking on the link below will start the download. Save this file on your desktop.

8. Go back to the homepage in Edge.

Below the address bar you can now find the message: 'You're in Internet Explorer mode. Most pages work better in Microsoft Edge'. You don't need to take any steps regarding this message.
